Remembrance is clearly shown Of memories painted within my mind; In petals remaining of love I’ve known Where stems touched ever intertwined. O’ daughter, love given of womankind, Stolen moments like a lost heirloom As thoughts look back when days rewind; Now the lattice is worn under bluest moon Of frailty found where yellow roses bloom. I find myself weeping after years gone by Through the hottest days and warmest nights; Lingering on beneath each August sky. Recalling her life, every kind thought I invite. O’ daughter, love given of sun and twilight; Each tear I’ve cried will I entomb For the children of my daughter shine this candlelight! Now the lattice is worn under bluest moon Of frailty found where yellow roses bloom Ovi+poetry Ovi_magazine Ovi-lehti Poetry |
