Hindus have praised Vatican and Pope Benedict for stepping up its fight against global warming by installing huge solar energy system, thus cutting its carbon monoxide emissions considerably.

Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, applauded His Holiness Pope Benedictus XVI Joseph A. Ratzinger and Vatican for this environment friendly move and frequent calls to save the planet and curb environmental degradation.

Faiths coming out in support of the environment was a remarkable signal, Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, said and urged all world religious leaders, religions and denominations to openly bless the environmental causes. Ancient Hindu scriptures, especially Atharva-Veda, were highly respectful of mother nature, he added.

We may believe in different religions, yet we share the same home—our Earth. We must learn to happily progress or miserably perish together. For man can live individually but can only survive collectively, Rajan Zed says quoting scriptures.

Pope Benedict heads the Roman Catholic Church, which is the largest of the Christian denominations. Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion followers. Moksha (liberation) is the ultimate goal of Hinduism.

Surely Benedict XVI has red and well pondered Theilard de Chardin "Building the Earth" which give the lie to all those who keep up the caricature and the slander (originating with Marx famous "opium of the people") that Christians are only interested in heaven and couldn't care less about the earth. They would not be able to say that in good faith had they also read de Chardin's proclamation about the earth.

P.S.The silence of the usual Catholic Church bashers in this forum is near deafening. Selectivity at work?

But they didn't adhere to the condom yet?

Why should I criticize the Vatican for repairing their electrical system? I imagine they also clean their toilets to minimize disease contamination but the horror of their general policies that causes unwanted pregnancies, huge prejudices, death from AIDs is certainly not mitigated by clean toilets or an improved electrical system. Happy now?

Point proven, indeed, the bashers lost no time in coming out of the woods, axes in hand. All one has to do is shout "Catholic Church" and they'll come out.

Merely complying to an urgent request, Mr. P. If you don't want it, don't ask for it.

Emanuel Paparella2008-12-01 18:49:24
One has to wonder if those bashers and slanderers unconcerned about their own intellectual integrity ever ask themselves why they comply to the urgent request of their internal voices to issue scurrilous and villanous half-truths and outright lies about an instititution which has been around some 2000 years to their obvious chagrin. It sounds like an obsession of sort redolent of cultic fanaticism.

... "carbon *monoxide*"... ?

AP2008-12-02 03:18:33
"It sounds like an obsession of sort redolent of cultic fanaticism."
Oh yes it does... yours.
Mr. P., how can you see propaganda in other trivial things and not in this? Of course, it's fine if they install a solar system - they have plenty of money to do so and it actually comes a bit late -, but the sun doesn't shine so bright that it would make us all blind, does it?

Emanuel Paparella2008-12-02 14:07:55
"Of course it's fine if they install a solar system."

If you do that more often (attempt to see and describe the whole picture about the Catholic Church without which you'll understand precious little about Europe)you and your fellow Church bashers may become a bit more credible. For you see, cherry picking is the demise of objective scholarship and even personal honesty, I am afraid.

AP2008-12-03 02:25:03
Oh, it is? Remember that, Mr. P.

Funny thing, telling an European from a Catholic country (and Catholic for twelve centuries) that he/she understands precious little about Europe and the role of the Catholic Church over there. Don't provoke me, Mr. P...

You'll regret deeply :)
