We'd like to bring a couple of things to your attention:

First, there's a play reading of Tom Stoppard's Arcadia this Friday at 7pm and, second, our good friends at Thespians Anonymous are putting on a show soon: Agatha Christie's An Appointment with Death, performances at Narri starting April 26th.

Play Reading
Friday, April 18th, 19.00 @ FINNBRIT, Fredrikinkatu 20 A
Tom Stoppard's Arcadia

What's on the menu for Friday? Take your pick. Fractals, The Gothic Novel, Newton, Chaos Theory, Capability Brown etc. But, above all, SEX - admittedly more cerebral than physical. What was Byron doing at Sidley Park - if he really was there. That's the Agatha Christie dish. The play is seasoned with the wit of Wilde and the intelligence of Wittgenstein. The main course, however, is SEX - the equation that Newton ignored.

Agatha Christie's Appointment With Death

To the casual observer, Mrs Boynton is a benevolent matriarch enjoying her holiday with her devoted family - sons Raymond and Lennox, placid daughter-in-law Nadine, and daughter Ginevra. Sarah King bumps into the Boyntons at a hotel in Jerusalem, and quickly develops both a romantic attachment to Raymond and a growing sense of unease about the Boyntons. Far from being a pleasant old lady, Mrs Boynton seems to exert a sinister spell over her desperately unhappy children.

Other guests at the hotel include Nadine's would-be suitor Jefferson Cope, haughty Lady Westholme, timid Miss Pryce, cheerful Mr Higgs and psychologist Dr Gerard, who sees that Ginevra Boynton is fast losing her grip on reality...
This motley group of travellers finds itself journeying together into the wilderness of Petra. Far from civilization, the simmering tensions of the Boynton family are brought to a boiling point - with deadly consequences.

Can the Boyntons escape their mother's malignant shadow and find happiness before it's too late?

First performed in 1945, Appointment with Death fuses humour, culture clashes, detective fiction and family conflicts into a psychological mystery guaranteed to confound and
