The current approval rating for President Bush is 28%, which must mean that some 25% have regretted their vote in 2004. Paradoxically, democrats and republicans are neck and neck in the current delectability polls between Mc Cain and any of the two democratic candidates. Some 25% of Americans think that the sun goes around the earth. Is there an overlap here and can it be expressed with an algebraic equation? I doubt it. Rather than scratch our head, let’s try poetry: the poet Paul Valery said that “any people who have been influenced throughout history by Greece, Rome and Christianity are Europeans.” The poet Walt Whitman said "the Americans of all nations at any time upon the earth have probably the fullest poetical nature." Are those statements still true in our brave new world of efficient ordering and logical mathematical positivism and no poetry, do they overlap, or do they algebraically cancel each other out and produce zero, which is to say nihilism? We do live in confusing times!

Continued chaos?
Indeed, Bohdan:
"One must still have chaos in one, to give birth to a dancing star. I tell you: ye have still chaos in you.
--Nietzsche
Now, that may sound like a poem but Nietzsche meant it as philosophy. And if mixing the two sounds chaotic it is because
"The spirit can dream differently than it thinks!"
--Anna de Noailles
