Last weekend -plus Monday, (2-4 of October 2021) Facebook blocked Ovi magazine and in extent my personal account because of a photo and according to the message I got, violation of the community standards, specifying that the photo had: violent and graphic content , adult nudity and sexual activity. The photo was about 1941 Babi Yar massacre, part of the Holocaust! And it was from our history section, the Ovi pedia!

Facebook literally censored the Holocaust!

Despite my complains via mails and the structured message board included in Facebook I received no reply or any explanation on since when the Holocaust is considered … adult nudity and sexual activity!

On the contrary and to my astonishment and shock, when Ovi magazine account returned on Tuesday 4th, I got the message: Account warning, “Your account may be restricted if you violate again.”

Unfortunately Facebook is still a strong communication tool for publications, especially ones like Ovi Magazine and we will continue using – at least until another photo of the …holocaust bothers their …democracy – but is not the only one among the social media where Ovi magazine has a presence.
