He was a Polyester Dinosaur, And had Lived in a Polyester age; Ritchie Valens And the Big Bopper.
He Remembered That day; They were Cruising to The drive-in Theatre and the News had just Come over The radio About the Revolution In Cuba.
He had his Arm draped Over her shoulder, Slipped his hand down The top of her dress Cupping her breast, And she asked: "where to?" And he responded: "Just drive baby, Just drive."
He Remembered His square Parents and Dressing Formally For dinner: He wondered What movie they Would be watching.
Either 'Return of The Fly' Starring Vincent Price,or 'Pillow Talk' Starring Rock Hudson And Doris Day.
He had A thing for Doris and Made his girl Dress like her, With those Open-shouldered 50's gowns Which he Could Either lift Up easily, Or flop our Her tittles With ease Over the Top.
He Remembered How the smell Of her musk Perfume mingled With the straining Notes of that Ray Charles Song that had Just come out; 'What'd I say', As it floated over The convertible Slicking his hair Back, black glasses On,as he made Circles with his Finger around Her nipple.
He Remembered Many things; The missile Crisis, the Beatles, The hippies And the Vietnam War.
He felt Now like A decrepit Groaning Rusted hulk, As his wife Pushed him Around the Retirement Home in his Wheel chair, As she asked: "where to?" And he responded: "Just drive baby, Just drive."
He Laughed, Because he Knew that he Was in the very Late autumn Of his life; They were Still alive And kicking Though, and Still listened To their old Records and Smoked the Occasional Joint.
He intended To go out With a hard-on, Thanks to those Fancy little Blue pills; And he still Slipped His hand Down his Wife's Dress to Grab her Sagging Tittle, yet In his mind's Eye,it was Still firm And young.
But he Didn't care, Because he Still felt like A punk, A rebel; Young At heart, That he Had never Sold out To the squares, And rebelled at Any chance He could.
He was a Polyester Dinosaur, And had Lived in a Polyester Age.
His wife's Voice came Floating Back into Focus as She asked: "where to?" And he responded: "Just drive baby, Just drive."
As the Music From their Record player Wafted through The window, Blowing in The wind, As the Autumn Leaves Gently Crumpled On the Wet,soft Earth.
