Despite appearances, the most authoritarian, xenophobic and corrupted regime in Europe is not the Hungarian or the Polish but Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis’ Greek government. Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis was democratically elected in 2019 and in twenty months he has morphed into a Trumpist thug who has turned the birthplace of democracy into a police state, using inhuman brutality to preserve his and his thugs grip of power. 

The unprovoked and intentional attack on families with babies in prams on a very family middle-class orientated neighborhood last week, by the riot police fully armed screaming that they are the real and only rulers and that they are there to enforce their order under any coast, is the best proof of how a democratic elected government can turn into a democratic elected dictatorship. After all Hungary and Turkey have shown the way and Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis is no different from Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Viktor Orbán. Actually he is much closer to Erdoğan than to Orbán.

Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis was a known corrupted scion of a corrupted family with deep roots in Greek politics and plutocracy. He climbed into the right-wing party of New Democracy leadership through intrigue and favour exchange using opportunistic mechanism and later just like Trump he became prime minister through populisms, lies, misinformation and spreading fear.

The last twenty months there is a random and constant escalation of corruption and violence in every single level, from the funds for the National Health System (ESY) to the education and cultural funds. Unemployment constantly rises due to unbelievable mistakes in economy while one after the other ministers and government officials find themselves involved in scandals that include from nepotism and friendly “investors” favourism to cover-up Mitsotakis-friendly paedophiles.

That while Greek economy reaches levels of 2009, just before the bankruptch and for the same reasons, because corrupted politicians destroy the financial foundation of the country robbing the national funds.

Aside to all that the excuses used for the brutal and inhuman strikes of the police against innocent has unveiled another dirty secret. Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis’ government with his own full consent has created a filing system on the Greek citizens based on ideology and believes or anti-government activism violating one of the fundamental principals of EU, the right and freedom to believe and support what you want freely. Furthermore and without any respect to the laws and constitution they publicize on national television this very private information. After that even Erdoğan looks more democratic and respectful to the law compared to Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis.

In the meantime and while people have started uprising more and more to Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis’ authoritarian regime with daily demonstrations there is another number that rises, the number of CoViD-19 cases and especially the number of dead. The government has tried to work through strict lockdowns but without supporting the already stumped nearly destroyed National Health System (ESY) cutting funds to increase funds for the …police. And what Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis does? Blames the opposition and random anarchists or football hooligans!

In a national televised discourse, Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis in a very Trumpian way while declaring the need of unity gave one of his most divided speeches binging back memories of a civil war giving last touches of his morphing to the master divider conman, Donald Trump.

Kyriakos ‘Koulis’ Mitsotakis destroys democracy in Greece establishing a brutal police state ruled by corrupted thugs but the danger of his authoritarianism is a global warning because just like a virus it spreads to the weakest fast and in the end it is democracy that dies.
