Back in 2014 with Greece deep into debt, memorandums, unemployment -reaching 27.5%, and kids literally fainting in schoolyards out of hunger, an EU official said that the terrifying part for the Greek people is that EU trusted a wolf to guard the sheep. That was a reference to then Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, one of the most corrupted and opportunistic politicians in Modern Greek history, also participant to the governments that led to the Greek bankruptcy due to their absolute corruption.

The little he knew, because six years later Greeks actually elected a worst wolf, a man who dwarfs Samaras’ authoritarianism and corruption, Kyriakos Mitsotaki. The son of a corrupted politician who paved the way for the seven years military dictatorship in Greece, an absolute corrupted, authoritarian populist who makes even the Hungarian Viktor Orbán look like a democratic saint.

mitso01_400_02While he had the reputation of a “naïveté” with mediocre intellect who got where he is thanks to his father and sister’s (former foreign minister for years) push and help and the support of Antonis Samaras hoping that he would use him as his pawn. He proved himself to be a populist manipulator with messianic complex and a strong authoritarian with one and only philosophy, stay in power-destroy all my enemies. And thanks to the Greeks’ vote now he has the parliamentary power to destroy democracy.

Damaging foreign policy with criminally stupid moves, supporting a butcher contrary to the world community, allies and foes, he has already destroyed the health system giving it hostage to private sharks; he has destroyed education equalizing private “universities” to the prestigious public and leaving primary education hostage to the dark ages fanatics of the Orthodox Church and “share” public money to …”friendly” characters.

The latest act of the Mitsotakis authoritarian play is a huge scandal and a dictatorial act. For the last three months and like most countries all around the world, the Greek government funded a media campaign for “say home”, a total of 20 million euros. And the money went to blogs that don’t exist, Facebook pages without followers, free blogs without any posts among others. What was common for all of them? The owners were either members of the New Democracy party or related to members of the New Democracy party. And we are still waiting for the government to give the list with the exact money these “nice” people took for a country on her knees from the huge debt, with 21% unemployment and over 30,000 people homeless.

And while you think that some might complain, some might demonstrate, show their dislike; Kyriakos Mitsotakis takes care of them. In a totally dictatorial move that even Kim Jong-un would envy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis tries to pass a law that will give the government total control over …demonstrations and demonstrators.

Greece is in very serious trouble and unfortunately by …choice and before these people fully understand the damage  Kyriakos Mitsotakis does, he will continue further destroying everything, leaving next to the Acropolis ruins the ruins of the Greek Democracy.
