because it is right to do so.

Freedom of Conscience

of the Sovereignty of Identity.

It is manifested
through moral character
educated
in moral responsibility
nourished by courage.

Freedom of Conscience
is the keystone species
in the ecology of democracy
touchstone of mutuality
and respect;
the foundation-stone
upon which are raised
structures of dialogue.

Freedom of Conscience
is freedom
of the Sovereignty of Identity.

When Freedom of Conscience
is absent
what remains is nothing
but the cheap imitations
of freedom.
Or pretense.

Or slavery…
