Amazingly what defines the second decade of the 21st century is not the climate change, is not the refugee waves or the effects for peace and democracy but one man who constantly lies, confederated with enemies against allies, provoked and challenged any democratic and ethic sentiment not only in the country he leads but all around the world. Despite his grotesque presence in politics, society, economics and the damage he has already inflict with his under-covered racist agenda Donald Trump influenced and keeps influencing the world directly and indirectly. Even Brexit has his traces through a caricature imitation of his, BoJo alas Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister.

What else defines this decade? The widen gap between the poor and the rich. With a l9ittle help from Trump… again, the rich got multi-richer and the poor hit bottom ….again! Part of the daily profits of the 100 richest people in the world would be enough to eliminate hunger in the world. But when you mention it, Bill Gates gets angry and we might lose our… window!

Greta Thunberg became the persona everybody talks about but this should have never happened and borrowing her own words, its not her the issue abut the climate change. The climate change that is visual and measurable anymore. And yet Trump and his followers inside outside USA and governments all around the world, deny that there is any climate change. Some of them also believe that the earth is flat!

And it is us. Us as individuals. What defines us?

Perhaps in an era of fake news, egoism and narcissism we should start with our selves; what defines us. Is it the lack of individual freedoms and democratic ethic? What about global warming. There are genocides unveiling all around the world and from Myanmar to India and from Turkey to Syria. How these things things shape us? How do we see our selves in a world shaped by prejudice, racism, radical climate change?

Sadly I don't feel the optimistic type this year and I’m sorry to say that despite the chance of Trump to say goodbye to the US presidency Trumpism will survive in the face and actions of Boris Johnson in UK, Mitsotakis in Greece, Erdogan in Turkey, Orban in Hungary, Duterte in Philippines, Putin in Russia and any other grotesque caricature of politician who has a saying in tomorrow’s life on earth.

I feel that time has come to reach our inner self definition and through that try to react to whatever happens around us before it is too late, but first we must identify with our realities, our situation before looking our wants in promises for...the good old days that never were! And we must deal with an earth that has changed and will change dramatically in the years to come if we don't do something to slow down this change.

And still… HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2020 is the year of the USA election and a lot depend on that global, its not one politician against another in the other side of the ocean any more, it is ways of life and lives at risk. There are separated families and torture, there is discrimination and racism, there hate crimes and murdered innocent, is not just about Donald Trump anymore.

However to a more personal level, to all of you, your families and everybody you love, HAVE A VERY NICE NEW YEAR, with good health, peace, love and strength to deal with life in the 21st century.
