When the first shock of Donald Trump’s election as the new US President passed, everybody said that he is going to change now he is the president. He is going to be presidential, he will understand better his responsibilities, he will learn, that is what they said. Well, no, no, no and NO. Obnoxious Donald did not change but oddly, it was obvious that he thought that all of us would. Change, I mean.

For some strange reason, a reason only Donald can understand and perhaps Bannon his daughter and another few people around him, in a very medievalish way he was expecting everybody to kneel in front of him and declare eternal obedience and loyalty. That did not work either. So, obnoxious Trump did not change, we did not change and day after day Donald shown us that the worst is still to come including war clouds in the horizon.

However, a few days ago, the Democrats’ leadership in the Capitol Hill, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi made a deal with Trump and suddenly everybody – with the media in the leading seat - started talking about the Trump reboot. Trump 2.0, they called it following contemporary IT trends. They actually believed that Trump …could change! Less than a month after Charlottesville and all the things said and done. Well, Trump’s supporters did not welcome his allegedly agreement with the Democrats especially the part regarding the DACA and good old obnoxious Trump was back in Twitter to remind everybody that there is only one Trump, trademarked and never changed. The man is a birter crusader, how could he change?

Nevertheless, there is a twist here that everybody blinded by the obnoxious behaviour of the narcissist, egomaniac, prejudice and racist Trump seems to miss. Even in case where the Congress could impeach Trump and force him to resign tomorrow, is America going to go back to the “good old days” where naïve Americans were preaching freedom and democracy all around the world, drinking Coca-Cola and eating hamburgers? Sorry to say, but NO! I am afraid that America is probably dead.

While all of us, including the media, we are watching every single word Donald twitters trying to find even spelling mistakes, the Congress approves tens of Trumpist judges all around USA; states legislate more obstacles for minorities and poor to vote, – since by Republican definition they all vote …Democrats. GOP actually manifactures an one party state with only the party members having the right to vote and decide whilst accusing China for lack of ...democracy. Betsy DeVos destroys public education making education privilege and not right as it should be, Steve Mnuchin uses Treasury for his honeymoon, Ben Carson is absent from the house crisis in Florida after Irma and the list goes on and on. And it’s not just that, there is more far more serious.

I quote as I read it: “Religious Right culture warriors David and Jason Benham published a video Monday in which they claimed “God is speaking” through hurricanes to send a message that America should repent for “breaching the boundaries of God” in regard to gender identity, gay marriage and homosexuality in general.” Seriously? Now we know why USA withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement! The vast majority of the hard-core Trump supporters believes that science is something …liberal to confuse normal people. During the Hurricane crisis in Florida, many of them asked where Obama was during the Catrina Hurricane crisis while there were some that ranted that, “Barack Obama had big part of 9/11, always on vacation, never in the office.”

Still, this is just the peak of the iceberg. A literally medieval America has woken up and in many places is taking over. Racism, police brutality, intolerance, prejudice, fascism, racism has brutally surfaced and I’m sorry to say but Donald Trump was the excuse, the alibi and the justification.

Americans have far more serious problems than Ivanka and Putin. They are in front the biggest challenge in their history and this is a social challenge that can mark the future of this nation. And no, is not a simple division; the problem is deep, very deep and very old. And it is not a disagreement or a philosophical conflict, it’s a war and while there will be no winners there will definitely be a lot of casualties. Let’s just hope that it will be as ugly as many historian predict.

As a postscript, I just finished with Hillary Clinton’s new book: What Happened. While the book shows a liberated Hillary from her proper/political correct/presidential mask, she wore for so many decades and while some of her excuses sound poor her withdrawal from active politics to the comfortable non-governmental organizations is …naïve and easy escape. If she is conscious of the damage in this country and wants to play a real role in the future of USA, she should return in active politics, definitely not as the next presidential candidate but as a member of the congress. Because this is where the real battle is and this is what will mark the future.
