I want to say hello to you
But I can’t find your lips
I want to go sailing

But I have no ships
And I’d like to eat an octopus
But my brother told me
That’s just a giant insect
So I turn to you and say
I want to say hello to you
But I can’t find your lips
But I have no quips
So I’m not sure what to do

Hey, your brother doesn't know what octopus is

A poet dares be just so clear and no clearer.... He unzips the veil from beauty, but does not remove it. A poet utterly clear is a trifle glaring." - E.B. White (Add a comment)

Indeed, as Eco used to say: truth is to shy a maiden to be contemplated naked.

I often feel the same way. So many good folks out there I'd love to have a coffee with and talk to -- they are invisable to me even when I know they are somehow part of my life. Your poetry speaks, even if I can't see your lips. Write on. . . .
