A 16 billion pixel image of Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper has been posted on the internet, allowing art lovers close up details of the 15th Century work. The image is 1,600 times stronger than those taken with a typical 10 million pixel digital camera.

Da Vinci conspiracy theorists will be traversing the image pixel by pixel – at least it will keep them off the street.

William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek series, has said he "can't believe" he has not been asked to be in the new movie. Leonard Nimoy is reprising his role as Vulcan Spock in the film, which is due out in the US on 25 December 2008.

As of yet, nobody else has said they can't believe it.

Daylight savings time, or summer time, ends on Sunday morning. At 04:00, the clocks should be moved back one hour to 03:00, giving everyone an extra hour of sleep.

For those of us with young children the extra hour evaporated in the wind.

Finland's first Red Nose Day raised over 1.5m euros on the night, with the focus upon combating the problem of child labour. Red Nose Day is a time for people to combine good clean fun with fund-raising efforts for a number of worthy causes.

A great night of viewing, although the interview with Bob Geldof was extremely embarrassing – pretending that he was Bob Dylan fell flat on its proverbial arse. Well done Finland on a great amount raised.

Two US astronauts from the shuttle Discovery have completed a space walk in which a new room was added to the International Space Station. Scott Parazynski and Doug Wheelock took six hours to steer the 14-ton module from Discovery's cargo bay on a robotic arm and put it in a temporary position.

There is word that planning permission was not granted.

The Royal Mail has ended Sunday postal collections after 17 years in what it says is a bid to improve efficiency. It says mail was collected from only a sixth of its 118,000 post boxes and just 50 business customers on Sundays.

You mean they have 'stamped' it out.

Strands of hair said to have been taken from the corpse of Ernesto Che Guevara by a former CIA operative have sold for $119,000 (£58,000) at auction.

Pure barber-ism…

The magnificent Greek holiday Oxi Day is celebrated today and is remembered for General Ioannis Metaxas' strong reply of 'OXI' (no) to Mussolini's request to allow Italian troops to come into Greece at the beginning of WWII.

Ovi wishes all Greeks a Happy Oxi Day.

Also worthy of commemoration are all those Italians who also said "oxy" to Mussolini, among whom Antonio Gramsci, Arturo Toscanini, Enrico Fermi, Ignazio Silone (who also said no to Stalin and left the communist party),De Gasperi (one of the founders of the EU), etc. so that a new free Europe beyond nationalism could be envisioned after the war.
