Yes it's that wonderful time again when comets meet, cacti bloom in the desert and Finn-Brit Players (and others) stand tall in the brilliant 47 Watt spotlight of the Kumpula Kylätila, for yet another Kumpula Folk Club.

Laugh as your fellow Players stand up and tell their favourite jokes, weep at their heart rending monologues, sigh at their morbid love songs. Cringe with secret delight when it's your turn!

Meantime, quietly seed the crowd with news of upcoming Players productions and generally enjoy yourself. Yes, even in Finland, that can be done.

Open Mike evening at the Kumpula Folk Club, Kylätila Saturday October 20th, 19.00 - roughly midnight.

If you can ride a liquorice unicycle whilst juggling tuna fish and buzzing Patagonian hiking songs on comb and paper, the Great Kumpula Folk Club is for you.

Entry free.

About us

The Finn-Brit Players is a Helsinki-based amateur drama society whose origins date back to the early 1950s. Since becoming active again in 1981, we have staged over thirty productions. The choice of plays has included musicals, murder mysteries, classics, comedies, Shakespeare, children’s entertainment, and drama.

This site contains an active log and history of our shows and other events such as Poetry & Jazz from 2007 onwards, as well as some archived material. For a whiff of history, we have archived our previous website as well as an even older one; feel free to explore!

For a modest annual membership fee (10 Euros), anyone can join, and the group is open to all ages. More on membership and how to join here
