Calling all Finn-Brit Players who are NOT involved in The Mourning Primrose

The Players have been asked to provide an evening for the Finn-Brit Society to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of William Blake, one of England's most influential and controversial poets and artists.

The complexity of his images and writings are too intricate to go into here, but will become clearer to all who would like to join a new performance of Mr & Mrs Blake. This was a full-length play written especially for an exhibition of Blake's work in Helsinki in 2000. It was expanded, with more scope for Mrs Blake, and performed the following year at the Gloria, Helsinki.

It's a tough piece, involving a whole variety of stage skills; acting, movement, dancing, juggling, poetry recital, and IMAGINATION! The original versions involved a choir - this time the weird sounds should be produced by the actors.

Don't be daunted - it's also a lot of fun.

Mr & Mrs Blake is to be performed exclusively for the Finnish-British Society on November 28th, with public performances on 29th, 30th and possibly 1st Dec at the FB premises. We'll need backstage crew, help with bookings and an assistant for Joe.

Were I living in Finland I wouldn't miss for the world. Were one asked to choose a poet who can be an effective antidote for the pervasive nihilism and relativism of our brave new world, one can safely choose William Blake.
