A little less than 20 chapters, approximately twenty seconds per chapter on the environment.

The composition of the environment

You essentially have three types of environments and four types of beings who share the environment. You have the air, the land and the seas, and you have plants, animals, human beings and chemicals who share the environment. Any combination of those can lead to environmental decay.

pecha00002_400Four types of environmental protection policies

You have failed states who have no environmental protection strategy. You have militarized states where higher-ranking members of the elite decide unilaterally what environmental protection schemes to adopt. You have tribal societies where token gestures are used for the environment and there is talk of environmental protection because it's a cool thing to talk about. And you have free societies, where independent individuals or enterprises who own land, seas or air try to lobby so they can get clean air, clean grounds and clean seas.

Polluting the air

A combination of chemicals emitted by human activity, plant activity, animal activity and mixing chemicals pollutes the air. The idea for clean air would be to alter human activity, plant activity, animal activity and mixing chemicals in ways that would limit damage to the air.

Polluting the seas

A combination of activities resulting from human activity, animal activity, plant activity and a mixing of chemicals is what pollutes the waters. The idea would be to alter human activity, animal and plant activity and mixing chemicals to preserve the waters. Unfortunately, since most of the waters are not privately owned, there is no owner to take the initiative of to ask for their water property to remain clean.

Polluting the grounds

A combination of human activities, animal and plant activities and mixing chemicals is what pollutes the grounds. With a human population, along to an animal and plant population which is ever increasing, the number of traces and pollutants left keeps increasing.

Innovation the protection of the environment

Innovation on the protection of the environment must focus on human activities and its limits on polluting the ground, the air and the waters, on human-led and natural animal and plant activities which limit the pollution of the grounds, air and sea, and chemical compositions and use of chemicals that would not pollute the air, ground and seas.

The environment at the individual and social level

Individuals alone can only take very few steps and actions that would limit environmental damage. At the social level, environmental activism has been linked with left-wing activism, when right-wing parties tend to encourage private individuals and enterprises to focus on environmental protection. The idea is if each individual and company protects their plot of land, air or seas, there would be a diminution of environmental damage.

Setting up environmental priorities

Often at international congresses or summits, environmental protection focuses exclusively on the air, exclusively on the seas or exclusively on the ground. I have yet to see an international summit where protection of the ground, air or sea were all agenda items.

The environmental ecosystem

The seas, the grounds, the air, animals, plants, human beings and chemicals feed off each other and feeding on each other depends on their survival. There is a chain of feeding where if on animal or plant or chemical loses its source of feeding, then another species will lose its source of feeding and so on. Up until now environmental ecosystems were defined in vague terms.

The environment and war

Polluting the air, the waters or the ground, or ridding a population of human, animal, plant or chemicals can be a form of war that can have economic consequences on the country being fought at war. Up until now environmental wars have not been the norm, but environmental damage could result in wars being fought.

The environment and politics

Environmental politics tend to have Marxist rather than nationalist or religious overtones. Religious, nationalist or ethnic parties have not made environmental protection part of their political discourse. Marxist political parties have the kind of discourse where it's the nasty big corporations who are polluting the environment to make money at the expense of the proletariat.

The environment and the economy

Some grounds, airs, seas, animal species, plant species, chemicals have been so polluted that all those who depended on them for economic survival have to find other economic activities. There has yet to be a country enter a recession solely on environmental grounds, but I can see a future where countries like China or Korea lose large portions of their GDP because they no longer have access to land, seas or grounds, or because their animal, plant and chemical species are no longer available.

The environment and society

No environmental group has really discussed the environment in holistic manner. It's usually a group that protects the airs, the ground, the seas, animals, plants or chemicals separately. Usually environmental groups are confined to one specific geographic area, and rarely have a holistic approach on environmental protection.

Environmental narratives and reality

Environmental narratives have tended to focus in general terms on the pollution of the air, the ground or the seas, and on the protection of plant, animal or chemicals. The problem is throughout history plants have disappeared and others have emerged, animal species have disappeared and others have emerged. What the main narrative should be is that the chemical composition of the earth is slowly changing, and that in no time in history have so many chemicals been sprayed all over earth. The problem is you can't be totalitarian and regulate human activity, plant activity or animal activity, but you need to tell land owners, sea owners or those who need the air that they need to protect their property. Usually land owners tend to think I can use my land, exploit it, and then when there's no longer use for it I can buy
