The Scorpion and the Crab

img_1045_acid_dancer_400The barren hallways
Echoed Like an empire
Of desolate souls;
Duelling in the sun
The scorpion
And the crab.

The cyclops
And the Circe,
The shadows
And the clown.

Crumpled gowns
And delicate crowns
Thorns pressed,
Bleeding brows
And wooden prows.

Jutting,cutting,
Darkness swirling
Flags unfurling
Flapping, billowing;
Brass,teak torn
And tarnished
Peeling varnish.

Lost forsaken
Sons of man,
Like an empire
Of desolate
Souls.

As they danced
In a circle under
The red plumb tree;
Duelling in the sun
The scorpion
And the crab.
