Clover

The
Stars
Aligned
And the
Poet-warrior
Sang as the
Wind blew
Gently across
The plains.

img_1414_400The
Green
Clover
Shimmering
Like a wave
And he sang
Of an age
Gone by;of
Heroes and
Castles,
And minstrels
And bards.

Deeds
Done and
Undone,
As their
Memories
Blew across
The fields like
Discarded
Debris.

A time
To live,
A time
To love,
A time
To die,
A time
To cry.

He
Laughed
As he
Drew the
Razor steel
Blade,
Unsheathed
From the
Scabbard,
Raised in
The air and
Charged.

They had
Killed her
And it
Mattered
Nothing now;
The fleeting
Image of her
Face flooding
His mind,
Mingling
With blood.

He
Charged
Forward into
The mists.

For
His time
Had come;
He had lived
Well and
Loved well,
And now
It was time
To die.

The
Stars
Aligned
And the
Poet-warrior
Sang as the
Wind blew
Gently across
The plains.

The
Green
Clover
Shimmering
Like a wave.
