Blackshirts? No thanks! Blackshirts? No thanks!

I don't think there is a nation in the world that haven’t face radicalism. No matter if it is left or right radicalism. It simmers beneath the surface, waiting as a demon from another dimension, for the portal to open.

And when that will be? Well, usually when most of the people are unsatisfied and insecure; when daily life becomes too hard and hopeless and everybody yearns for change. Any kind of change. Because, everything is better than the current situation. And someone must be blamed and be responsible for our misery.

While the radical left- wing promises utopian prosperity, blaming capitalism and the money for all evil on the Earth, radical right-wing offers bans and returning to the darkness of the Middle Age; blaming the lack of traditional values and modern style of life for all the evil upon Earth.

craot01_400And all that happens covered under the "national identity" mask to make sure that we are not to lose ourselves. But when you overreact with this "national protection" you are stepping into nationalism and fascism. And that, my dear fellows, is not a society that should exist.

These days, we are witnessing the ominous blackout. Blackshirts rise again. They are not returning us to the Middle Age exactly, but they remind us of a very dark period in early twenties from the last century. Italian guys in black shirts brought one of the most shameful periods in history, which continued by the raising of the SS troops in Germany and …we all know how that ended.

We all might point that a black shirt can make a nice fashion accessory (the same with a little black dress for women, although I can't remember any negative connotation associated with a black dress) but the symbolism is obvious on those gatherings and has nothing in common with any kind of fashion. Except with a "fascistic fashion" that spreads lately from south to north.

Not so long ago, one art Exhibition was shut because of the Falun Gong symbol, an Indian symbol of good luck, converted at the time of the birth of fascism in the terrifying fascist symbol called the swastika and remained known as that.

So, an art Exhibition was shut because of a symbol and no one dares to shut the living carriers of evil, led by a war-crime suspect who acts as the "local sheriff", creating his own army.

Whom do they protect? What are they preparing for?

Are they going to attack those of other nationalities and religion in their neighbourhood or are they preparing to push refugees on Orban's blades, because that's what's howling these pre-election days in their meetings. Pure hatred and intolerance hidden under the mask of patriotism and traditional values.  And knowing that our law forbids fascist symbols and speeches of hate, I really don't know what our Justice is waiting for. What's a difference between swastika and these Blackshirts?

A big one! We can discuss the real meaning of an Indian symbol and who has converted it in something totally different; but we can't - and we must not - discuss about calls to hate and violence, about elimination of those who are different. There is no different meaning on that!

We have to ask ourselves, how is it possible that these forces are getting stronger all over Europe? There is no big difference between Blackshirts in Croatia or KKK robe in Finland. Hatred is always hatred.

If we allow these Blackshirts riders from Greece through Balkans to Finland to ride their horses I am afraid that these horsemen of Apocalypse will really announce the end of the time.

And if a Blackshirt-ism is the only solution to save my national identity then, thanks, I would rather walk naked.

Kada do toga dolazi? Obično kada većina ljudi osjeća nezadovoljstvo i nesigurnost, kada svakodnevica postane toliko teška i beznadna da svi vape za promjenom. Bilo kakvom promjenom.

Čista mržnja i netolerancija skrivena pod maskom patriotizma i tradicionalnih vrijednosti.

To nema drugačijeg značenja!

Since this interesting article analyzing the rise of fascism and right wing parties all over Europe was published together with one on anti-Americanism in Europe, perhaps a question that may be worth investigating is how is one to explain that anti-Americanism is not only the exclusive province of the left but is equally popular on the right. In investigating this issue one of course needs to recollect the decade that precedes World War II. Indeed, those who ignore their history are bound to repeat it.
