Hollow Days

img_0767_just_drive_baby_400We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

That
Flutter
On street
Corners
Like scraps
Of paper
Caught
In the
Wind.

That
Travels
And scrapes
Down wet
Lonely roads
Past street
Vendors
Under
Midnight
Street
Lamps.

Past
Alley-cats
And empty
Scattered
Food tins;
Or the bag
Lady sleeping
In shop
Front doorways;
Or the fat man
On his warm
Couch,inhaling
Warm chocolates
And bread
On a windy
Night.

We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

That
Fills up
Our hollow
Days.

With
Haunting
Summer
Kisses that
Lingers on
My lips still;
Or my childhood
Played out through
Water sprinklers
In the park on
A hot summer's
Day.

We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

In the
Days of
The wizard
Of OZ;of
Constructed
Deities of gold
Dispensing
Immortality
For a dollar
Coin.

We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

Where
Under
Morning
Opened
Blinds
With
Light
Filtering
Through,
I comb
My hair
And consider;
All the revisions,
All the divisions,
All the decisions
That have led me
Here, and I
Consider.

For
We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

In the
Days
Of gold.

Oh how true ..
And while I was falling down your lines, eager for to see the end, I felt, all that hollow ... And came to my mind, another verse, one song ... ("Demons" - "And the saints we see
Are all made of gold" ...) and all this reminded me how empty life can be, how many demons we all wear ... Thank you.

Thank you for your kind words Gordana, indeed, in this modern world, we need to admit that we have lost something, lost our way and need to first admit our hollow days before we can find our authenticity again.
