Hollow Days

We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

img_0398_400That
Flutter
On street
Corners
Like scraps
Of paper
Caught
In the
Wind.

That
Travels
And scrapes
Down wet
Lonely roads
Past street
Vendors
Under
Midnight
Street
Lamps.

Past
Alley-cats
And empty
Scattered
Food tins;
Or the bag
Lady sleeping
In shop
Front doorways;
Or the fat man
On his warm
Couch,inhaling
Warm chocolates
And bread
On a windy
Night.

We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

That
Fills up
Our hollow
Days.

With
Haunting
Summer
Kisses that
Lingers on
My lips still;
Or my childhood
Played out through
Water sprinklers
In the park on
A hot summer's
Day.

We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

In the
Days of
The wizard
Of OZ;of
Constructed
Deities of gold
Dispensing
Immortality
For a dollar
Coin.

We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

Where
Under
Morning
Opened
Blinds
With
Light
Filtering
Through,
I comb
My hair
And consider;
All the revisions,
All the divisions,
All the decisions
That have led me
Here, and I
Consider.

For
We live
In the
Hollow
Days.

In the
Days
Of gold.

Dear Leah,

Thank you for your kind words, they truly humble me.I believe that a poet should feel the whole world and give voice to its conscience with a clear and poignant voice, for God only knows that we need more of that now;the way mankind is abusing existence and mother nature herself.

Nb; I also like your work, that resonates with a clear and honest feminine voice of love and empathy; for we also need more of that now as well more than ever.
