Rebellious Day

Blue
And
Yellowimg_1352_400
Flags,
Billow
In the
Breeze.

In these
Rebellious
Days;in
These
Red and
Bloody
Days.

Emaciated
Figures in
Grey, like
The Burghers
Of Calais;
Cluster
In the
Street
Like sets
Of haunted
Sculpture.

Among
The hurtling
Stones,and
The crackling
Bones;they
Shout for
Plasma
Screens,
And play
Things.

While
Their
Children
Hunger
In the
Streets.

The old,
Regretful
In their
Sleep.

Dejected
People in
The streets.

In their
Shallow
Fallow
Ways;
In their
Blue
And
Yellow
Days.

Yes, dear Nikos, but the Hope inherent within these present conditions is that the intermingling of Blue and Yellow create Green. Hopeful, Growthful, Fertile Green.

Indeed Leah, I fully agree; I wrote this poem as an anti-war poem; about the futility of conflict.Maybe settle their differences over a game of chess? more civilised I think.
