The Vintage Cafe

The breeze
Gently caressed
The luminescent
Leaves;mouth
Watering flavours
Of scattered
Cafes wafting and
Intermingling
With with
Trees.

img_1295_400As the
Seductive
Sounds of
Brazilian
Bossa Nova
Pulsated from
The warm
Heart of the
Vintage
Cafe.

Journeying
Through
Time and
Space;
Journeying
Through my
Soul like
Explorers
Of old.

Vasco Da
Gama,or
Ferdinand
Magellan;
Navigating
The world.

The music
Of Macau,
Mingling with
Spices of
Goa;while
Brazilian
Melodies
Played;
Jobim's
'Girl from
Ipanema' ,
As the coiffed
Perfumed
Girls writhed
In ecstasy.

All these
Visions
Washing
Over me
As I sit in
The Vintage
Cafe;infused
With this sexy
Fado feeling.

Thank you for your kind words Leah, I wrote this poem whilst dining in my favourite cafe in Sydney, in the Rocks area in the colonial part of Sydney Harbour, where the cafe actually is called 'The Vintage Cafe' and is run by my Portuguese friend Ruis, and where a Brazilian friend Jose, strums the guitar whilst singing in a soft ,lulled voice songs from the classic 50's Brazilian songbook......so while in this environment, it's not too hard to be inspired;for the imagery and visions to pour and flow from my pen onto the page.....many thanks :)
