Because I loved her

Silver stars flash
Like a Peacock's tail
Across the night,
picture_4_400And I thought of
Her face;because
I loved her.

The moonlight
Shone,as the
Music carried
Me away;
Journeying through
Time and space,
Floating above
The patchwork
Green below;and
I remembered her face,
Because I loved her.

Under a burnt Siena
Sky we strolled under
Colonnaded porticos
As opera singers
Sang,watching the
Passing parade and
My mind drifted
Remembering her
I loved Her.

As the world slept
Under the full moon
I wept; long dead
Now,I still remembered
Her face and counted
Myself a lucky man
Because i
Loved her.

A poem from the collection “A change of feelings” written by Nikos Laios
